The school yard playground
We would all play together
United by sun

Today’s haiku from from the Baffled haiku challenge on Twitter. The haiku challenge was to write any haiku using the word play.

I remember from my childhood that it was always so easy to make new friends on the school yard playground. We all got together and played. It didn’t matter our race or religion nor did we have any political ideologies at that time.

Today, the sandbox we play in called “life” is so much more complicated. What we once thought were friends, no longer stand beside us playing in the sand. Instead, they are kicking it as us.
